BIGGER THAN THE BUILD
Motorized Marketing
Royal Enfield approached me to build a custom Shotgun 650 motorcycle for EICMA. They had just released this platform and wanted the type of iconic builds I create to bring market attention to the bike. Though the nostalgic platform is not something I would typically use for an ICON build, the marketing exposure made it worth the effort.
CREATING THE CUSTOM
Icon x Royal Enfield hero project
Like all ICON customs, I served as creative director, leading my in-house fabrication team in with a hands-on approach. The goal wasn’t refinement. I set out for a complete transformation of the stock bike into something worthy of ICON badging.Like all ICON customs,
I don’t build one-off bikes for their own sake—these are brand tools. Every design decision is made to reinforce the ICON narrative of street performance and bold style. This one had to represent the Royal Enfield brand ethos while living up to the hard-riding requirements of ICON.
SCALING UP PRODUCTION
Royal Enfield x Icon 650 Shotgun / Limited Edition
While the custom build generated market impact, the objective was always scale. To that end I worked directly with Royal Enfield to develop a limited edition production Shotgun 650 motorcycle, along with a matching jacket, helmet & gloves. The result was a 100-unit release turning a one-off build into something riders could actually own. The objective was simple. Turn marketing effort into quantifiable revenue.
