PATROLUX K9 GLOVE
The tactical industry thinks its problems are bad guys.

The motorcycle industry thinks its problem is asphalt.

I’ve found it’s usually just physics and costume.

A couple of years ago, I was hunting with a K9 officer. He told me how many pairs of gloves he goes through in a month. It was a lot. The leashes burn right through the palms. But they can't wear thicker gloves because they still need to use their pistols.

Years earlier, in the motorcycle industry, I had dealt with almost the exact same thing. Street riders loved the dexterity of minimalist MX gloves, and were rejecting traditional leather track gloves. I could have just built MX style gloves, but I couldn't accept what happens when they hit the pavement.

I solved that problem by adding a ceramic print in key impact and abrasion zones, dramatically improving survivability without sacrificing feel.

The K9 leash issue was fundamentally the same. So I relocated the ceramic reinforcement to the areas most exposed to leash burn. The trick was interspersing silicone grip elements into the ceramic to maintain control on a polymer pistol frame.

Throughout my career I've found that the tactical and motorcycle industries are really two sides of the same coin.

The costumes may differ.

The physics rarely do.
