ICON ONE THOUSAND
Founder | Brand Architect | Product Systems | Creative Direction
ICON 1000 was created as a darker extension of ICON. Inspired by my youth around 1980s superbikes and the cinematic storytelling of that era, the line reimagined motorcycle gear through a more aggressive aesthetic. Premium materials, paramilitary influence, and unapologetic attitude transformed nostalgia into rebellion, establishing ICON 1000 as one of the most distinctive expressions in modern motorcycle culture.
ONE POSSIBLE FUTURE
While the industry chased the 60s, I returned to the 80s
Motorcycle culture was shifting. A new generation of riders was rediscovering vintage machines, but most “heritage” gear simply recreated the past. Rather than copy earlier eras, ICON 1000 drew from retro superbikes and the visual language of 80s cult action films to build something motorcycle gear hadn’t yet seen.
SHAPING THE BRAND IDENTITY
Premium motorcycle gear with a cinematic edge
ICON 1000 was conceived as a premium extension of ICON with its own tone and attitude. The brand blended outlaw imagery, post-industrial influence, and elevated materials to create gear that felt less like traditional motorcycle apparel and more like wardrobe for a lawless future.
BUILDING THE WORLD
Mobile enough to scavenge, brutal enough to pillage
Mobile enough to scavenge, brutal enough to pillage
ICON 1000 extended beyond apparel into custom motorcycles that embodied the same aesthetic as the gear. Built in-house, each bike became an extension of the brand. That same hands-on approach shaped the visual storytelling, where I led art direction, location scouting, and set design to build the world the brand lived in.
BUILDING THE PRODUCT SYSTEM
Go Fast, Look Flash
ICON 1000 was built as a product platform spanning apparel, helmets, footwear, and accessories. Each category expanded the brand’s world, letting riders step fully into the ICON 1000 aesthetic rather than wearing a single piece. The line showed how a unified product system could extend the brand beyond riding gear into rider identity.
DEFINING THE DESIGN LANGUAGE
Wasteland Couture, Vintage Cues
ICON 1000 blended vintage motorcycle references with a wasteland aesthetic. Waxed leather, black-oxide trims, raw fiberglass, and distressed finishes created gear that felt worn-in and battle-tested. The result balanced protection and performance with an attitude rarely seen in motorcycle gear.
THE MARKET RESULT
Celebrating the mythology of survival
ICON 1000 stood at the forefront of the emerging neo-retro motorcycle movement, expanding ICON beyond traditional sportbike culture. ICON 1000 created gear for riders who see themselves not as commuters, but as characters built to endure harsh terrain and uncertain futures. The brand achieved strong commercial success while establishing one of the most distinctive identities in modern motorcycle gear.
