VIKTOS TACTICAL
Founder  |  Brand Architect  |  Product Systems  |  Creative Direction
I've always been fascinated by military gear—aircrew survival equipment, tactical kit, and combat uniforms. As a kid I spent hours digging through Army surplus stores imagining the places that battered gear had been and the adventures it had seen. VIKTOS grew from that lifelong fascination, combined with my passion for adventure and storytelling.
IDENTIFYING THE OPPORTUNITY
Tactical reimagined as an action-sport lifestyle
Traditional tactical gear focused on military issue requirements while overlooking the growing culture around training, fitness, and everyday preparedness. VIKTOS was created to build equipment for the full tactical lifestyle—from daily training to operational use and the long stretches in between.
DEFINING THE DESIGN LANGUAGE
Tactical functionality with street-driven style
Military experience and decades of motorcycle gear design informed the functional details—pocket placement, reinforced seams, and silhouettes cut for movement — while the visual language blended tactical utility with the attitude and influence of modern streetwear.
BUILDING THE PRODUCT SYSTEM
Good design is the mastery of constraints
I structured VIKTOS as a scalable platform spanning apparel, footwear, gloves, bags, and tactical equipment. Every product had to fit the realities of my manufacturing partners’ capabilities and the financial limits of a small company. VIKTOS succeeds not just because of unique product, but because I operate best within constraints and turn those limitations into tactical advantage.
SHAPING THE BRAND IDENTITY
Designed for life around the mission
Most tactical brands design for combat. I designed for the life around it. VIKTOS approached tactical gear with a casual confidence, drawing as much from surf, skate, and moto culture as from military influence. The result was gear built not just for moments of action, but for the long stretches of everyday life between them.
THE MARKET IMPACT
An archetype for modern tactical brands
From just a sketch in my notebook, VIKTOS grew into a legitimate competitor across apparel, footwear, concealed carry, and tactical gear. Product design, creative direction, and a distinct brand voice moved together under a single vision, establishing a globally distributed brand that became an archetype for modern tactical companies.
